Section 17: Appeal from orders passed under Section 11, 12, 15 or 16

Any person who has made a claim under this Act, or any Forest Officer or other person generally or specially empowered by the State Government in this behalf, may, within three months from the date of the order passed to such claim by the Forest Settlement Officer under Sections 11, 12, 15 9 or 16, present an appeal from such order to the Collector of the district who may dispose of the appeal himself or may transfer the same to the Additional District Magistrate for disposal.
