Any Magistrate of the First Class specially empowered in this behalf by the State Government, may try summarily under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1[1973] 1(2 of 1974), any forest offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or with fine not exceeding one thousand rupees or with both.
