Every polling officer, clerk or other person, in attendance at the polling station who, except for some purpose authorised by law, communicates to any person any information, showing directly or indirectly for which candidate any voter has voted, and every person, who by improper means procures any such information, shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months or with fine or with both.
