The Orissa Requisitioning of Goods Vehicles Act, 1986State Act of Odisha · Act 5 of 1986

(1) This Act may be called the Orissa Requisitioning of Goods Vehicles Act, 1986.

(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Orissa.

(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 27th day of Nove mber, 1985.

2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,"

(a) "Government" means the State Government of Orissa;

(b) "Goods Vehicle" has the same meaning as assigned to it under clause (8) of section 2 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939; and

(c) "Owner" includes where the person in possession of goods vehicles is an minor the guardian of such minor and in relation to a goods vehicle which is the subject of a hire purchase agreement, the person in posse ssion of the vehicle under that agreement.
