Section 8: Powers of Estate Officer

The Odisha Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1972State Act of Odisha · Act 7 of 1972

An Estate Officer shall, for the purpose of holding any enquiry under this Act, have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 5 of 1908, when trying a suit, in respect of the following matters, namely :

(a) summoning and enforcing the attendance of any persons and examining him on oath;

(b) requiring the-discovery and production of document; and
