Section 95: Cheating at games and gambling in street

(1) Whoever by any fraud or unlawful device or malpractice in playing at or with cards, dice or other game or in taking part in the stakes or wagers, or gambling in betting on the sides or hands of the players, or in wagering on the event of any game, sports, pastime or exercise, wins from any other person, for himself or any other or others any sum of money or valuable thing, shall be deemed to have committed the offence of cheating within the meaning of Section 415 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and be liable to punishment, accordingly.

(2) Whoever assembles with others, or joins any assembly in a street assembled for the purpose of gambling or wagering, shall, on conviction, be punished with fine, which may extend to five hundred rupees.
