Section 42: Discharge of toxic substances

Every holder of an exploration licence or a production lease shall take all possible precautions to prevent discharge of toxic and objectionable liquid effluents in the offshore areas especially where bereficiation plant, workshop and other facilities are developed within the offshore areas. Such effluents should be suitably treated before discharging into sea, if required, to conform to the standards laid down under any law for the time being in force in this regard.
