Every Registrar shall be appointed oq a scale of-pay o.f nr. +ioo'l"so-sloo-2oo-lloo,, or'6n such other scale-of pay it *uu ti a.i".mined by the Board of Management, fro-m time i.'-iir... -Ee-stratl, iri addition to the pay in the scale meniionia- "mve, be entitled to such other allowaaceE as are iJ.i.riuti to'the employees of the University from time to time.

2. Subiect to the provisions of the Act and Statutes, every n.ci.il'rhaU be aipointed for a term of 5 ,years; provided ih;; th" Board of Management may renew the appointment for further terms of 5 Years each.

3. The qualifications for the post of Registrar shall be as o."."rlb.d Lv the Board of Management from time to time' '-4. Th" University shall provide every Registrar with unturnisnea residential accom-modation for s/hich lre will pay ient/licence fee at the rates fixed .by ttre University.

Provided that if a Registrar is provided with a house which is furnished, he shall pay rent for such furniture at thc rates fixed by the UnivtirsitY.

5. Every Registrar. during his tenure, shall-be entitleil to leave, as id-iriibl" to the employees of the University -from time'to time. Provided that *hen an employee of the Universitv or a College affiliated to it or of any ofher University oi institution rnaintained by of afhliated to such other University, is appoiqted as a Registrar he shall continue to be governed by ihe same leave Rules to which he was enlitled prior to his ippointment as Registrar till he continues to hold his lien on the post.

6. Everv Reeistrar shall be entitled to Travelling Allowance, Leave Travel Concession and Medical Attendance Rules as are admissible to the employees of the University from time to time.

7. Every Registrar shall be entitted to such terminal benefirs as may be fixed by the Board of Management from time to time.

8. Every Registrar rhall be entitled to subscrrbc to the contributory provident fund of the University till thc end of his tenure ;

Provided that where an srnployee of the University or a college of any University or Institution mairitained by or affiliated to such other University is appoint-ed ai Registrar, he shatl continue to be governed by the same retirement benefit scheme to which he was entitled prior to his appointment as Registrar or till he continues to hold his lien on that post, but under this provision, the pay for the purpose of subscription io the Gencral Provident Fund and subscription to the University Contributory Provident Fund shatl lrc the pay drawn by him as Registrar.

lUnder Section 26(1)(a) of the Actl l. Admission

(2) The conditions of eligibility with respect to prior educational qualifications, age and such other re- i quirements shall be prescribed by the Academic Council for each academic programme or courso aud the University shall make admission to these programes/coru'ses sutrject to fulfilment of these requirements.

(3) It shall be open to the University conduct such entrance tests as it may prescribe from time to time for admission to specific academic programmec/ courses.

(4) lsEo of the seats in the academic programmeV courses offered by the University shall be reserved for students belonging to Scheduled Ca.stc and 7-l-2c/o for slndents bclonging to Scheduled Tribes, Prgvided that thc University may also make such special provision for the admission of candidates belonging to the physically handicapped and such other disadvantaged groulx on tbe recomrrrendations of the Academic Council from time to rime.

2, Duration of programmes and courses

(1) The minimum aad maximum duration for the academic.programmes offered by the University leadir4r to the award of degrees, diplomas arrd certificatei shall be prescribed for each such programme on thc recommendations of the Academic cotrncil. Tbc Academic Council may also prescribe such other conditions as the students have to fulfil to become eligibte for the award of de_erees, diplomris and certificates.

(2) The minimum and maximum duration for the courses offered by the University shall be prescribed by the Academic Council.

3. Structure and pattern of programmes The University may, on the recommendations of the Academic Council, prescribe the 9rrus1u16 xr6 pattern of the programmes ofrered by it leadjng to the award of clegree, diploma and certificate. Prr> vided that the University shall endeavour to organisOall its programmes on the basis of rnorlutar slruc* ture, flexibility in the eombination of courses ae well as methods and pace of learning, course-rvjse registration for various programmes, etc.
