1. (I) These rules may be called the Post Office Savings Bank General (Second Amendment) Rules, 2003.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in Official Gazette. ·

(I) These rules may be called the Post Office (Monthly Income Account) (Third AmendmenQ Rules, 2003.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Poa(Of!ice(MonthlyIncome Account)Rules, 1987,after rule 9, the followingrule shall be substituted, namely.- "9A Post-maturity h1l111 C. - Where repaymentof a deposit, inclusive of bonus, under rule 9 has become due but has not be= made, interest shall be allowed on the amount due for a maximum period of two years from the date of maturity to the date of repayment of the deposit subject to the following conditions, namely»
(a) The interest shall be simple and shall be calculated 111the rate applicablefrom time to time to savings accounts of the type of smgk <ir jeim?t.
(b) For the purpose of payment pf interest, any palt of the period which i? less than one month sha]]be ignored.

(I) These rules may be called the National SavingsCertificates (VIII Issue) (Fourth Amendment)Rules, 2003. (21 They shall come into force on the date o(their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the National SavingsCertificates (Vlll Issue) Rules, 1989,.
(i) after rule ( I 5), the followingrule shall be inserted, namely:- " ISA Post-maturity interest: • Where repayment of the amount, inclusive of interest, under rule 15 has becomedue but has not been made, interest shall be allowed on the amount due for a maximum period of two yearsfromthe date of maturity to the date of repayment of the amount subject to the followingconditions, namely:-(a) The interest shall be simple and shall be calculated at the rate applicable from time to time to savingsaccounts of the type of single or joint account.
(b) For the purpose of payment of interest, any part of the period which is less than one month shall beignored.
(c) The interest shall be paid to the depositor in lumpsumat the time of repayment of amount due."; •

(1) These rules may be called the Kisan Vikas Patra (Third Amendment) Rules, 2003.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Kisan Vikas Patra Rules, 1988, -
(i) in rule 12 A, - , (I) in sub-rule ( 1), for the letters and figures "Rs. 60,000", the words "one lakh rupees" shall be substituted;
(2) in sub-rule (2), for the Table, the following Table shall be substituted, namely:- "Table SI. No. Name of Autharitv Limit (in Rs.) 1 2 3

(ii) after rule (13), the following rule shall be inserted, namely:- " 13A Post-maturity interest: • Where repayment of the amount, inclusive of interest, under rule 12 has become due but has not been made, interest shall be allowed on the amount due for a maximum period of two years from the date of maturity to the date of repayment of the amount subject to the following conditions, namely.-
(a) The interest shall be simple and shall be calculated at the rate applicable from time to time to savings accounts of the type of single or joint account.
(b) For the purpose of payment of interest, any part of the period which is less than one mon_th shall be ignored.
