1. S h o r t t i t l e iwd c o m m e p c e m e n t ; (i) These regulations may be called the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) (Helper, Khalasi and Motor Cleaner posts) Recruitment Regulations, 2002.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. N t t m b e r o f p o s t s a n d s c i t le s o f d u v : The number of posts and the scales of pay shall be as specified in columns (2) and (3) of the Schedule annexed hereto.
3. M e t h o d o f r e c m i t m e n t , a g e l i m i t , q t t a l i f l c a t i o n . e t c . : The method of recruitment, age limit, qualifications and other matters relating to the said post shall be as specified in the columns 4 to H of the said Schedule.
4. Disqualification; No person-
(a) who, has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living;
or
(b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the Service:

Provided that the Corporation may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and there arc grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule with prior approval o f the Central Government, 5 Initial Constitution;
(1) All the members appointed against these posts and holding these posts on regular basis and who had opted for transfer o f their services to the Corporation, shall be deemed to have been appointed from the date o f commencement o f these regulations to the corresponding posts, grades and the cadres in the service.
(2) The regular continuous service o f a person referred to in sub-regulation (1), shall be counted tor the purpose of promotion, confirmation and pension in the service.
f) Power to relax: Where the Corporation is o f the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any o f the provisions o f these regulations relating to age limit, educational and other qualifications and miniinum qualifying scrvice with respect to any class or category o f persons or posts :
Provided that the Central Government may, at any time, modify or cancel the order made b \ the Corporation,
7. Saving: Nothing in these regulations shall affect reservations, relaxation o f age limit and other concessions required to be provided for persons belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Schedules fribes. Other Backward Classes, Ex-Seryicemen and other categories o f persons in accordance with ihe orders issued by the Central Government I'rom time to time.
8 Interpretation: If any question relating to interpretation o f these regulations arises, it shall be decided by the Corporation with the approval o f the Central Government.
