Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement.

The Pre-conception and Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994Central Act · Act 57 of 1994

(1) This Act may be called [the Pre-conception and Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection)] Act, 1994.

(2) It shall extend to the whole of India ***.

(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
