TR F71 fel sCifil VA.( . 1/ 24'8 6-7if .793' f?ai, 9 9.il(-1, 1986 lT,# 7R 613 (n)] I MINISTRY OF HOME AleFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 30th July, 1990 G.S.R. 676(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5 of the President's (Emoluments and Pension) Act. 1951 (30 of 1951), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Presidents Pension Rules, De, namely I. (1) These rules may be called the President's Pension (Amendment) Rules, 1990.
(2) They shall come into foree on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In rule 3 of the President's Pension Rules, 1962, for snb-role (1) of the following sub-rule shall be substitued, namely:— 111 (a) A retired President shall be entitled Secretarial Staff consisting of a Private Secretary, a Personal Assistant and a Peon shall be paid actual charges incurred by him for the maintenance of such secretarial staff.
(h) During each financial year, an amount not exceeding Rs. 12,090 (Rupees twelve thousand only) shall be paid 13 every retired President towards the actual chatges Incurred by him on (icemen of office expenses.
(c') Aft expenses refe,:res: to in clauses (a) and 19) of this sulsrele shall he tome by the Central Govern- IrMnt.
(d) A retired Presldmt shall be entitled without payment of r3..1 to the use of a furnished residence anywhere in India, at the choice of the retired Pdesident, without payment of water and electricity charges for the remainder of his life
(c) At places where Government owned accommodation is allotted to a retired President, the size of the residence shall be comparable to the residence allotted to a Minister in the Onion Council of Ministers and if the highest type of Government residence available at a particular place is less in sire than a residence allotted to a Minister in the Union Council of Ministers the highest type of accommodation available at that place shall be allotted to the ex- 3 ligrif )] "fR'T TT Wi1t117,7 President, At places where suitable Government residence is not available for allotment to a cured President. the size of residence to be taken on lease to he provided to a retired President. shall tune a living airs not exceeding 2000 square feet.
(f) The value of the furniture and electrical appliances provided free of rent in a residence allotted to the retired President, shall not exceed the monetary limit prescribed for supply of furniture and electrical appliance provided free of rent in a residence allotted to a Minister in the Union Council of Ministers.
(g) A refired President shall be entitled to the use of a telephone at his residence and a motor car, free of charge and shall be paid actual charges incurred by him on the maintenance thereof ;
Provided that he may use his own motor car in lieu of which he shall be paid. Cs ery month. car allowance equal to the cost of 250 litres of petrol plus salary admissible to a - - - person, from time to time, holding the post of a Driver in the Government of India."

The President's Pension Rules, 1962 were notified vide G.S.R. No. 1928, dated the 1st October, 1962.
The said rules were earlier amended as under :-
