Section 2: Amendment of section 3, Act IV of 1950

The Preventive Detention (Amendment) Ordinance, 1950Ordinance · 1950

In section 3 of the Preventive Detention Act, 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act),—

(i) in sub-Section (2), for the words "Any District Magistrate or Sub-Divisional Magistrate, or, in a presidency-town, the Commissioner of Police, may" the following shall be substituted, namely :— "Any of the following officers, namely: —

(a) District Magistrates,

(b) Additional District Magistrates specially empowered in this behalf by the State Government,

(d) in the presidency-towns, Commissioners of Police, and ( 2 0 7 ) 208 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 1]

(e) in the State of Hyderabad, Civil Administrators, may";

(ii) in sub-s#ction (.3), for the words "by a District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate or Commissioner of Police" the words, brackets and figure "by an ollicer mentioned m sub-seclion (2)" shall be substituted.
