Section 23: (1) The Executive Council shall be the executive authority of the Board and shall consist of the following

(i) the Chairman of the Board as the ex-officio Chairman,

(ii) the Director of School Education,

(iii) two members to be nominated by the Chairman of the Board from amongst the ex-officio members referred to in clause (i) of subsection (1) of section 13,

(iv) two members to be nominated by the Chairman of the Board from amongst the nominated members referred to in clause (ii) of subsection (1) of section 13.

(2) The term of office of the nominated members shall be four years.

(3) If a member other than an ex-officio member nominated to the Executive Council remains absent without permission of the Council for three consecutive meetings thereof, his office shall be deemed to have been vacated.
