Section 7: Daily and weekly hours of work in catering establishments

The Puducherry Catering Establishments Act,1964Union territory Act of Puducherry · Act 6 of 1964

(1) No young person shall be required or allowed to work in any catering establishment for more than five hours in any day.

(2) No other employee shall be required or allowed to work in any catering establishment for more than nine hours in any day or for more than fortyeight hours in any week:

Provided that, subject to the payment of overtime, wages, the total number of hours of work including overtime shall not exceed ten hours in any day and the total number of hours of overtime work shall not exceed fifty hours in any quarter.
