Section 38

The Puducherry Revenue Recovery Act, 1970Union territory Act of Puducherry · Act 14 of 1970

(1) It shall be competent to the defaulter or to any person acting on his behalf, or claiming an interest in the land, to tender the full amount of the arrears of revenue with the interest thereon, and all charges which have been incurred in demanding the arrears, or in attaching or managing the estate or in taking the steps necessary for sale up to the day previous to the date fixed for sale under section 36 and the sale shall thereupon be stayed.

(2) All sums paid under this section or under section 39 by any tenant or a bonafide mortgagee or other encumbrancer or any person claiming an interest in the property adverse to the defaulter may be recovered in the manner laid down in section 35.
