Section 45: Application of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 (hereinafter in this section referred to as the said Act), the Government may, by notification, direct that, the said Act or any of the provisions thereof or the rules made thereunder shall apply to women employed in shops and establishments covered under the provisions of this Act.

*[45A. Application of the Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1923.- The provisions of the Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1923 and the rules made thereunder shall apply mutatis mutandis to every employee of the establishment in the event of accident.”]
