Section 14: Manner of election of the Members of Town Vending Committee from amongst the street vendors

Puducherry Street Vendors (Protection of livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Rules, 2017Central Rules · 2014

(I) The Returning Officer appointed under sub-rule 2 of rule 13 shall conduct the Elections for the Members of the Town Vending Committee from amongst the street Vendors in the manner provided under Schedule-I appended to these rules.

(2) A mobile vendor, stationary vendor or street vendor sbaU be disqualified to be elected to a Town Vending Committee, if be is-

(i) a convict of an offence involving moral turpitude.

(ii) physically and/or mentally incapable of discharging bis duties as a member of a Town Vending Committee.

(3) The names of the Elected Members shall be intimated by each local Authority to the Government which shall upon receipt of such names alongwith other members nominated by it notify the constitution of the Town Vending Committee in each Local Authority.
