Section 9: In regulation 25 of the said regulations, for sub-regulation (2), the following sub-regulation shall be substituted, namely

“(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-regulation (1), it shall be open to the Bank to provide residential accommodation to an officer on payment by the officer, on and from the 1 st day of November, 2007, a sum equal to 1.20 per cent, of the basic pay in the first stage of the scale of pay in which he is placed or the standard rent for the accommodation, whichever is less:

Provided that where the officer is provided with furniture at such residence, a further sum equal to

0.25 per cent of basic pay in the first stage of the scale of pay in which he is placed shall be recovered by the Bank from him:

Provided further that, where such residential accommodation is provided by the bank, the charges for 20 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART III—SEC. 4] electricity, water, gas and conservancy shall be borne by the officer.”.
