Section 32: Meeting of the Visiting Committee and its duties

(1) The Visiting Comn}n- tee should mgel oncea quartgr. The Superintendent should send notice of the meeting to all the members at least seven days before tne day fixed with a statement of any special matters which under these rules requires the consideration of the Committee and are to be laid before them at the meeting for which notice is issued. No special matter of which notice has not been given under this rule should be considered at a meeting except with the sanction of the Chairman and the unanimous consent of all the members present.

' (2) The Visiting Committee shall see that the requirements of Rule 14 are fulfilled.

(3) They shall -

(a) visit the Institution to see every inmates to hear complaints, and see that the management of the Institution is proper in all respects;

(b) examine the Punishment Book and the Log Book or Journal;

(c) bring any special cases to the notice of the Director; and

(d) see that no person is illegally detained in the Institution.
