Bye laws of PuncofedState Regulations of Punjab · 1961

i) � “Act” means the Punjab Coopera�ve Socie�es Act, 1961 as amended from �me to �me.

ii) � “Rules” means the Punjab Coopera�ve Socie�es Rules.

1963 as amended from �me to �me.

iii) � “Federa�on” means the Punjab State Coopera�ve Development Federa�on Ltd.

iv) � “Bye-Laws” means the registered bye-laws.

v) � “Board “means the Board of Directors of the Punjab State Co-opera�ve Development Federa�on.

vi) � “Government” means the Government of the State of Punjab.

vii) � “Registrar” means the Registrar, Coopera�ve Socie�es Punjab or Addl. Registrar. Coopera�ve Socie�es or Joint Registrar, Co-opera�ve Socie�es or Deputy Registrar, Coopera�ve Socie�es.

viii) � “Managing Director” means the Managing Director of the Federa�on Appointed by the board.� � OBJECTS

5. � The objects of the Federa�on shall be to promote and to develop the Coopera�ve movement in the State, to educate, guide and assist the people in their efforts to build up and expand the coopera�ve sector and to serve as an exponent of coopera�ve opinion. In accordance of these objects, the Federa�on may either by itself or in collabora�on with Na�onal Coopera�ve Union of India or other Coopera�ve Ins�tu�ons:- i) � Organise coopera�ve educa�on and training programme and popularise the Principles of Coopera�on.

ii) � Develop inter-coopera�ve rela�onship and help the coordinated func�oning of the Coopera�ve Movement in various sectors.

iii) � Organise, conduct, collaborate and assist in carrying out research and inves�ga�on of projects on important coopera�ve problems.

iv) � Arrange for the produc�on and publica�on of literature and audio-visual and other aids including films, film strips on coopera�on and allied subjects.

v) � Implement Coopera�ve educa�on and development schemes as may be formulated by N.C.U.I.

vi) � Give publicity to the achievement of Coopera�ve through periodicals, journals, pamphlets, brouchers, books, films, broadcast and the like for crea�ng favorable atmosphere for the development of the Coopera�ve Movement.

vii) � Maintain an informa�on bureau and a library.

viii) � Act as the accredited representa�ve of the Punjab Coopera�ve Movement in the State and Na�onal spheres.

ix) � Convene and hold the State Coopera�ve Congress and Coopera�ve seminars, mee�ngs, conferences, Exhibi�ons etc.

x) � Select delegates representa�ves or observers on behalf of the Federa�on for par�cipa�on in the Na�onal and State conferences.

xi) � Facilitate the promo�on of Coopera�ve ins�tu�ons and assist the member socie�es in resolving their problems and difficul�es.

xii) � Acquire, purchase own or dispose of immovable property by way of sale, lease or otherwise for the furtherance of the objects of the Federa�on.

xiii) � Impart knowledge of family welfare and popula�on problems among the members of the Coopera�ve Socie�es and other rural popula�on through the media of Lectures, demonstra�on, audio-visual aids, distribu�on of literature etc. in accordance with the State/Na�onal policy.

xiv) � To undertake sale of Sta�onery items, Register required for running the business of the Coopera�ve Socie�es, their Bye-laws or of any other Departments, Boards, Corpora�ons, Organisa�ons and Individuals on payment of charges fixed by the Governing Board from �me to �me xv) � Installa�on and expansion of Prin�ng Press to undertake on a bigger scale prin�ng work of Coopera�ve Socie�es, other Departments, Boards, Organisa�ons and Individuals on payment of charges fixed by the Governing Board from �me to �me.

xvi) � Run an adver�sing and news agency and seek accredita�on with the Indian Newspaper Society.

xvii) � Advise the Govt. on ma�ers rela�ng to the Coopera�ve movement in the State, and xviii) �Generally undertake such other ac�vi�es or func�ons as are considered incidental or conduc�ve to the a�ainment of the objects of the Federa�on.
