Section 36A: Precautions regarding the use of portable electric light

The Factory Act , 1948State Act of Punjab · Act 63 of 1948

In any factory-

(a) no portable electric light or any other electric appliance of voltage exceeding twenty-four volts shall be permitted for use inside any 1 Subs. for “Provincial” by Adaptn. of Laws Orders, 1950 2 Subs. for “Provincial” by Adaptn. of Laws Orders, 1950 3 Subs. for “Provincial” by Adaptn. of Laws Orders, 1950 4 Subs. by Act 20 of 1987 (w.e.f. 1.12.1987) 5 Ins. by Act 94 of 1976 (w.e.f. 26.10.1976) 24 The Factories Act, 1948 Sec. 37 chamber, tank, vat, pit, pipe, flue or other confined space 1[unless adequate safety devices are provided]; and

(b) if any inflammable gas, fume or dust is likely to be present in such chamber, tank, vat, pit, pipe, flue or other confined space, no lamp or light other than that of flame-proof construction shall be permitted to be used therein.]
