Punjab Gooernment Gazette I ' - EXTRAORDINARY Published by Authority CHANDIGARH, FRIDAY, APRIL 12,2019 (CHAITRA 22, 1941 SAKA) GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB DEPARTMENT OF FOOD, CIVIL SUPPLIES & CONSUMER AFFAIRS (FOOD DISTRIBUTION BRANCH) The 12th April, 2019 NOTIFICATION No.2FD(513)2018/1187.-In the exercise of powers conferred by section 17 of the National Food Security Act, 2013 (Central Act No. 20 of 2013) and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to make the following rules further to amend the Punjab Food Security Rules, 2016, namely:-
1. () These rules may be called the Punjab Food Security (Amendment) Rules, 2019.
(i) They shall come into force at once.

2. Inthe Punjab Food Security Rules, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 11, in sub-rule
(1), for the words "in writing”, the words "in writing or online on the portal or website of the Punjab State Food Commission or the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, as the case may be," ‘shall be substituted.
In the said rules, for rule 19, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- 19, The terms and conditions of service and status of the Chairperson and other Members of the State Food Commission.-
(1) The Chairperson and every other Member of the State Food Commission shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office and shall be eligible for reappointment as such:
Provided that no person shall hold office as Chairperson or other Member after he has attained the age of sixty-five years.
(2) The Chairperson or Other Members, as the case may be, of the State Food Commission,- a) in the case of Chairperson, may resign from his office at any time by writing under his hand which shall be addressed to the Governor; and

(EXTRA), APRIL 12, 2019 (CHTR 22, 1941 SAKA) [©) @ b) in the case of Member, may resign from his office at any time by writing under his hand which shall be addressed to the State Government; or ¢) Chairperson or Member, as the case may be, may be removed from their office as per the provisions contained in sub-section (9) of section 16 of the Act.
The provisions relating to the salaries and allowances, other conditions of service and status of the State Chief Information Commissioner (who is equal to the Election Comumissioner of the Election Commission of India), and the State Information Coinxnissionefi(_»'IMe equal to the Chief Secretary to the State Government), under the Right to Infmmfimfia;i. shall apply mutatis mutandis to the Chairperson and the Members of the State Food Commission, respectively.
To carry out the functions of the State Food Commission under the provisions of sub-section (6) of ‘the section (16) of the Act, all powers relating to the general superintendence, directions and management of the affairs of the State Food Commission, shall vest in the Chairperson and the other Members of the State Food Commission, for effective functioning of the said commission.” (K.A.P.
