(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act I of 1894), the State Government may constitute Tribunal for the purpose of performing the functions of the Court with reference to the acquisition of land for the Board under the said Act and deciding such other matters as may be prescribed.
(2) The Tribunal shall consist of one person only who shall be a judicial officer not below the rank of District Judge.
(3) The Tribunal shall have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act V of 1908).
61. The Tribunal may, with the previous sanction of the Government appoint such officers and servant as it considers necessary for carrying on its business, and the remuneration and other conditions of service of such officers and servants shall be such as may be prescribed.
62. The amount necessary for the payment of remuneration, salaries, allowances and other contributions payable to the judicial officer appointed as the Tribunal and of the officers and servants of the Tribunal shall be paid out of the funds of the Board.
