Punjab Jail Canteen Management Rules, 1965State Act of Punjab · Act 3706 of 1965

i) The authorised capital for eaçh canteen shall be. calculated the ràte iot excecding Rs. 2 per priaoner on the basis of 'authorised population he Jail.

(ii) This capital shall be built up by a voluntary interest free loan, la,ged by prisoners from their private property (cash account) credited in Jail\subject to ihe following conditions :

(a) that such a loan does not (excèed 25 per, cent of the total cash depQsit: at the credit of the pri_oner cppeçrped or Rs,5icheygr, is less;"

(b) actual total loan is reimbursed to the prisoner on his.trån_ferito áiothe, Jail or at the time of his release, Repayment of Loan,-i) The repayment of the -löan sh­ll bethe: firet charge on the profit of the canteen.

(ii) The profits of the canteen-shall not:be utilized!for any pårposetill the whole amount of the loan is repaid in its entirety to all the prisoners whQhayeadvang: cd such a loan.

(111) A prisbner may in whole or. partipayment of the loan Cçeive çoup in lieu of the loan subject to the conditionsregardingthe pürehase.-glcpupg prescribed in these rules.
