(2) Definitions.

(c) 'Employees means an employee of the Punjab Medical Council .

Provided lurtlier that In the c:u-c of candldato belonging to Sdieduled Castes and other B.~clcward Classes tho upper age limit shall be such as may bo !lxod by tho Gowrnment from lime to ti rue.

(II) In the case ot ox-servicemen, the upper ago Um.It shaU be such as h11s been prekrlbed In the Punjab R.ecrultrocnt of Ex441, vlcome11 Rules, 1982 as amended from time to time.

(!) A person appointed 10 a post In the service shall remain on probation for a period ot two years If recruited by dl~cct appointment and 01\C year, II appolnte<l otherwise:

Provided that :-

(a) any period, atlar such appl)lntment ;peut on depatatloa on correspondlllg or a higher post shall count tow3rd, the po,lod of probation ;

(b) any period of ofllciati11g appointment to a post In the servlr,e ,hall be reck.oned as period spent on p·ob1tion for that post but no person who !us so oHlclated shmll, on tho co,upletlon or tho preso•lbe<I period of p,obatlon be entitled to be conllrmed unless ho Is appointed "'gah>st a permanent vacancy ;
