GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR (LABOUR BRANCH) NOTIFICATION The23January, 2024 No. Labour-LabOMIWA/2/2021-4L/ 6' 8 - In exercise of the powers conferred by clause(b) of sub-section (1) of section 5 read with sub section (1) of section 3 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (Central Act No. 11 of 1948), and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab, after consulting the Punjab Minimum Wages Advisory Board, is pleased to publish the following proposal to amend the Government of Punjab, Department of Labour, Notification No.
S.0.94/C.A.11/1948/Ss 3 and 5/2012 dated the 15th day of November, 2012.
Notice i$ hereby given that the said proposal will be taken into consideration by the State Government on or after the expiry of a period of two months from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, together with any objection or suggestion, which may be received by the Labour Commissioner, Punjab, Model Welfare Center (Kirat Bhawan), Phase-10, Sector-64, S.A.S. Nagar, (supdthq.genl@gmail.com), from any person in respect of the draft before the expiry of the period so specified. r AMENDMENT
1. In the Government of Punjab, Department of Labour, Notification No.
S.0.94/C.A.11/1948/Ss 3 and 5/2012 dated the 15th day of November, 2012, the words, figures and signs "The Un-Skilled employees who work with the same employer for ten years continuously shall be placed in the Semi-Skilled Catego-ry and for converting their wages into the Semi-Skilled Category multiple of 1.,15 shall be applied and rounded off to next higher multiple of ten paise." shall be omitted.
In the said notification, the words, figures and signs "The Semi-Skilled employees who work with the same employer for five years continuously shall be placed in the Skilled Category and for converting their wages into the Skilled Category multiplier of 1.15 shall be applied and rounded off to next higher multiple of ten paise." shall be omitted.
3. In the said notification, the words, figures and signs "The Un-Skilled employees who work with the same employer for ten years continuously shall be placed in the Semi-Skilled category and for converting their wages into the Semi-Skilled Category multiplier of 1.15 shall be applied." shall be omitted.
4. In the said notification, the words, figures and signs "The Semi-Skilled employees who work with the same employer for five years continuously shall be placed in the Skilled Category and for converting their wages into the Skilled Category multiplier of 1.15 shall be applied." shall be omitted.
5. In the said notification, in the NOTES, under the heading "Definition of Classifications of Workers",- ( i ) under the sub-heading "(b) Semi-skilled", the words and signs "OR Un- Skilled employees who work with the same employer for ten years continuously shall be placed in the Semi-Skilled Category." shall be omitted.
(ii) under the sub-heading "(c) Skilled", the words and signs "OR Semi-skilled employees who work with the same employer for five years continuously shall be placed in the Skilled Category." shall be omitted; and
(iii) under the sub-heading "(d) Highly skilled", the words, figures, signs and brackets "Security Supervisor (who has obtained training as per syllabus approved by Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training vide letter dated 6.8.2009)," shall be omitted.
6. In the said notification, Notes 6 and 16 shall be omitted.
