The Panchayat Samit is and Zila Parishads ~hall maintain its accounts in accordance with the accou111ingsystem prescribed by the Govemment oflndia, Minis1ryof Panchayati Raj along wi1h amendments in formats or otherwise. in view of the requirements of the Srnte Government or Central Government or otherwise:

Provided that till the new system of accounts is con1pletely introduced or till such period as may be detennined by the Director Rural De'·elopment and Panchayats, the Panchayat Samitis and the Zila Parishads shall continue to maintain the existing system.
