Section 61: Limitation

The Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994State Act of Punjab · Act 9 of 1994

(1) The provisions of any law fixing a period of limitation for civil or revenue proceedings shall be deemed to be amended to the extent that the period of limitation of any suit triable by a Gram Panchayat shall not exceed three years.

(2) Any time spent on proceedings before a Gram Panchayat to which the provisions of this section are applicable shall be excluded from any period of limitation prescribed by law for suits in other courts.
