Section 3: Disposal of assets and liabilities of Gram Sabha [Section 3(4)

If the whole of the Gram Sabha area is included in a municipality, cantonment, city, urban estate or notified area, all rights, obligations, property, assets and liabilities if any, whether arising out of any contract or otherwise shall vest in the Municipal Committee, Municipal Corporation, cantonment board, Notified area, Chief Administrator, as the case may be. The Block Development and Panchayat Officer of the area shall hand over all the movable and immovable property of the Gram Panchayat as well as all the records and documents to the 1 Inserted vide notification dated 27th May, 2016 published in Punjab Govt Gaz. (Extra), June,2, 2016.
