(I) Appointment to the Service shall be made from amongst the eligible candidates purely on the basis of merit.
(2) The merit will be prepared byadding the percentage ofmakrs obtained in 10+2 Examination or its equivalent and Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry :
Provided that a Candidate having qualification of Master of Veterinary Science shall be given ten additional marks and a candidate having qualification of Ph.D in any of the Branches ofAnimal Husbandry and Veterinary Science shall be given fifteen additional marks while preparing merit.
Example I :-A person, who has-
(i) obtained 62% marks in 10+2 examination
(ii) obtained 72% marks in Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry
(iii). Master of Veterinary Science in any of the branches of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science.- shall be considered to have obtained total marks 62 72 10 [i.e. (i) + (ii) + (iii)] = [62 + 72 + 10 = 144] Example 2 :-A person, who has-
(i) obtained 62% marks in 10+2 examination
(ii) obtained 72% marks in Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry
(iii) Ph.D in any of the branches of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science.- shall be considered to have obtained total marks 144 62 72 15 149 [i.e. (i) + (ii) + (iii)] = [62 + 72 + 15= 149]
(3) In case of equal marks in the final merit list, the person older in age shall be placed higher in merit.
