Section 3: Allowances to the Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen and sitting fee to the Members of Panchayat Samitis

The Punjab Payment of Allowence and Fees to the Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Memebers of the Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads Rules, 1996State Rules of Punjab · 1994

(1) The Chairmen and Vice- Chairmen of the Panchayat Samiti shall be entitled to receive a monthly allowance of seven thousand and five hundred rupees and five thousand rupees respectively.

(2) The Member of a Panchayat Samiti shall be entitled to receive a sitting fee of five hundred rupees per sitting for attending meetings of a Panchayat Samiti.

(3) The Chairman or in his absence the Vice-Chairman of a Panchayat Samiti, when goes out of the concerned Block in connection with the official work of the Panchayat Samiti, shall be allowed travelling allowance and other allowances, which are admissible to a Class II Officer of the State Government.

(4) Allowances to the Chairmen and Vice- Chairmen and sitting fee to the Members of Zila Parishad.- (1) The Chairman and Vice-Chairman of a Zila Parishad shall be entitled to receive a monthly allowance of fifteen thousand rupees and ten thousand rupees respectively.

(2) The member of a Zila Parishad shall be entitled to receive a sitting fee of one thousand rupees per sitting for attending the meeting of the Zila Parishad.

(3) The Chairman or in his absence the Vice-Chairman of the Zila Parisahd when goes out of the concerned district in connection with the official work of the Zila Parishad, shall be allowed travelling allowance and other allowances which are admissible to a Class I Officer of the State Goverment.
