PART 11-Section 3--Sub-section(l) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY NEW DEUD, FRIDAY, JULY 4, 1958/ASADHA 13, 188o MINISTRY OF LABOUR & EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delh~, the 4th July 1958 O.S.R. 572.-In e,xerc1se of the powers conferred by section 12 of the Work ing Journahsts (F1xat10n of Rates of Wages) Ordmance, 1958 (3 of 19158), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:-
1. These rules may be called the Working Journalists (Fixation of Ratee of Wages) Rules, 1,9~8.
2. The Comm1ttee shall, before making any recommendations to the Central Government, give an opportumty of being heard to every person who has made a representation to the Committee, If he makel!l a request in writina to be heard:
Provided that if the Committee IS of opmion, havina regard to the nature of lhe representatiOns or the interests mvolved or any other relevant circumstances, that it is expedient so to do, the Comm1ttee may, instead of hearmg individually every })arson who makes such a request, hear only such persons as in its opiruon are sufficiently representative of any class or group of peil'sons involved.
ij ( 1) The Cotntnittee may issue summons to persons whose attendance is 1'equired e1ther to gtve a-vidence or to produce documents.

5. Every application by a person interested in ~he inspection of any rep~esenta tion made to the Comm1ttee or any document furmshed to 1t, shall be made m writ in!! to the Secre ary to the Committee, and shall be accompanied by a challan sh~wing tho payment o~ a fee ot Rs. 10 into the Treasury under the head of account "XXXVI Miscellaneous"; and such inspection shall be made in the presence and under the supervision of the Secretary or any one of his subordinate officers.
6. Every notice given by the Central Government under sub-section (2) of section 6 of the Working Journalists (Fixation of Rates of Wages) Ordinance, 19158, shall be published-
(a) m the Gazette of India and m the official Gazette of. the State or of.
each of the States concerned; and
(b) in at least two important newspapers circulating in the State or each of the States, as the case may be, one of the newspafers being in English and the> other or others bemg in the regiona language or langu!lges of the State or States concerned.
