In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,-
(a) Academic Council means the Academic Council of the University as constituted under section 25;
(b) Advisory Council means the University Advisory Council constituted 25 under section 21;
(c) Board means the Board of Management of the University constituted under section 23;
(d) Comptroller means the Finance officer of the University appointed under section 16;
(e) Faculty means a Faculty of the University;
(f) Finance Committee means the Finance Committee of the University constituted under section 29;
(g) prescribed means prescribed by the Statutes, Ordinances or Regulations;
(h) Pro-Vice-Chancellor means the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University appointed under section 14;
(i) Registrar means the Registrar of the University appointed under section15;
(j) Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations mean the Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University made under sections 44, 46 and 48 respectively;
(k) student of the University means a person enrolled in the University for taking a course of study for a degree, diploma or other academic distinction duly instituted;
(l) teacher means a person appointed or recognized by the University for the purpose of imparting instruction or conducting and guiding research and includes a person who may be declared by the Statutes to be a teacher;
(m) University means the Baba Amte Divyang University, Jaipur incorporated under section 3; and
(n) University Department means a Department maintained by the University.
