- (1) The Vice-Chancellor, if he or she considers necessary, may appoint a Pro-ViceChancellor from amongst the professors of the University. (2) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor appointed under sub-section (1) shall discharge the duties in addition to his or her duties as a professor. (3) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall hold office at the pleasure of the Vice-Chancellor. (4) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall get an honorarium of rupees one thousand per month. (5) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall assist the ViceChancellor in respect of such matters, as may be specified by the Vice-Chancellor in this behalf from time to time and shall preside over the meetings of the University in the absence of the ViceChancellor and shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be assigned or delegated to him or her by the ViceChancellor.
