Section 3: Classes of licences

(1) Licenses granted under section 3 of the Act shall be either 1[triennial] or temporary.

(2) 1A [triennial] license in Form C shall only be granted subject to the provisions section 3 of the Act and in accordance with the provisions of the rules in Part 111 in respect of a permanent building. It shall be valid for [three years] from the date of issue and shall be renewable [for the same period] on the application of the licensee.

2["(2A) The provision of sub-rule (2) shall also apply for the grant of licence for 'Lok-Chhavi'] 3[(3) (a) Subject to the provisions of the Rules in Part 4, a temporary licence in form C maybe granted in respect of a temporary building or in respect of any place for exhibition by means of touring cinematograph or in respect of a special cinematograph exhibition.

(b) A temporary licence in respect of a temporary building may be granted in the first instance for a period of one year which can be extended upto five years:

Provided that if within this period of five years, the temporary cinema building is not converted into one which is fit for the grant of licence under sub-rule (2) of Rule 3, no temporary licence will be granted after the period of five years.

(c) A temporary licence in respect of a touring cinematograph may be granted in the fist instance for a period of four months. This period may however, be extended for a period of less than one year.

(d) A temporary licence in respect of a special cinematograph exhibition may be granted for the period during which the specified occasion or occasions for which the licence is granted is likely to last. The period may, however, be extended for such further 1 Added by No. 11, d. 28.8.82.

periods as may be found necessary keeping the demands- of the specified occasion/occasions in view but not exceeding the period of one year in all].
