Section 20: Constitution and composition of the Advisory Council

The Govind Guru Tribal University , Banswara Act , 2012State Act of Rajasthan · Act 31 of 2012

(1) There shall be an Advisory Council of the University which shall consist o f the following members, namely:-

(i) a person of national eminence in tribal affairs, to be appointed by the Chancellor, who shall be the Chairperson of the Advisory Council;

(ii) the Vice-Chancellor;

(iii) Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Rajasthan, Tribal Area Development Department;

(iv) Commissioner, Tribal Area Development Department, Udaipur;

(v) the Director, Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur;

(vi) the Vice-Chancellor, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur;

(vii) the Vice-Chancellor, Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota;

(viii) five eminent persons belonging to the Scheduled Tribes, to be drawn from the fields of academics, community service and public life, to be nominated by the State Government;

(ix) up to five academicians of Tribal Studies, Social Sciences, Behavioural Sciences and Humanities and other related disciplines, to be nominated by the Chancellor; and

(x) the Registrar of the University, Member-Secretary.

(2) One-third members present at a meeting of the Advisory Council shall constitute the quorum for meeting.

(3) The Chairman of the Advisory Council shall perform such functions and exercise such powers as are provided in this Act or as may be prescribed.

(4) The members shall serve without any additional pay but shall be entitled to daily allowance and travelling expenses as may be prescribed.

(5) The minutes of meeting of the Advisory Council shall be recorded and maintained by the Member-Secretary of the Advisory Council.
