(1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following, namely:-
(i) the Vice-Chancellor Ex-officio Chairman;
(ii) the Director, Students’ Welfare Ex-officio Member;
(ii) the Director, Human Resource 9 Development Ex-officio Member;
(iv) the Chairpersons of all Faculties Ex-officio Member;
(v) the Deans of all constituent colleges Ex-officio Member;
(vi) the Controller of Examinations Ex-officio Member;
(vii) the University Heads of all the departments from each Faculty (from teaching campuses only not below the rank of Associate Professor) Member;
(viii) one teacher of the Professor rank from each Faculty to be nominated by the Vice- Chancellor on rotational basis Member;
(ix) One eminent Educationist from outside of the University to be nominated by the Vice- Chancellor Member;
(x) the Registrar Member;
(xi) the Director of Skill education Ex-officio Member-Secretary.
(2) All members of the Academic Council other than the ex-officio members shall hold office for a term of two years.
(3) One third of the members of the Academic Council shall form quorum at a meeting of the Council:
Provided that if a meeting of the Council is adjourned for want of quorum, no quorum shall be necessary at the next meeting for the transaction of the same business.
(4) Normally the Academic Council shall meet once in every four months on such dates as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor, however, special meetings of the Academic Council can be called by the Vice-Chancellor.
