Section 58: Power to arrest without warrant

The Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954State Act of Rajasthan · Act 21 of 1954

Any person in charge of, or employed upon, any irrigation or drainage work may remove from the lands or buildings belonging thereto, or may take into custody and take forthwith before a Magistrate or to the nearest Police Station, to be dealt with according to law any person who within his view, commits any of the following offences,-

(1) wilfully damages or obstructs any irrigation or drainage work;

(2) without proper authority interferes with the supply of flow of water in or from any irrigation or drainage work or in any river or stream, so as to endanger, damage or render less useful any irrigation or drainage work.
