A detailed audit of the accounts of a local authority for the whole year may be taken up at the discretion of the Director if such a course appears to him to be necessary in any case. The Controlling Authority or the State Government may, in special circumstances, request the Director to arrange for a detailed audit of the accounts of a local authority for any period.
