(1) The Chancellor, the first Vice-Chancellor, the first members of the Board of Management and the Academic Council of the University and all persons who may hereafter become such offices or members so long as they continue to hold such office or membership shall constitute a body corporate by the name of “The Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner”3 and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and may by that name sue and be sued.
(2) The University shall be competent to acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, to lease, sell or otherwise transfer or dispose of any movable or immovable property, which may vest in or be acquired by 2 Amended by University of Bikaner (Change of Name) Ordinance 2008 (Ordinance no 11 of 2008) 3 Amended by University of Bikaner (Change of Name) Ordinance 2008 (Ordinance no 11 of 2008) 4 (Updated upto Act No. 17 of 2019) it for the purposes of the University, and to contract and do all other things necessary for the purposes of this Act:
Provided that no such lease, sale or transfer of such property shall be made without the prior approval of the state Government.
(3) The Headquarters of the University shall be at Bikaner which shall be the headquarters of the Vice-Chancellor.
