Section 290: Penalty for obstructing persons employed by Municipality

(1) Whoever obstructs or molests a person employed by or under a contract with the Municipality under this Act in the performance of his duty or in the fulfilment of his contract or removes any mark set up for the purpose of indicating any levels or direction necessary to the execution of work authorized by this Act shall be liable on conviction to fine which shall not be less than two thousand rupees but which may extend to five thousand rupees.

(2) The police officer in whose view an offence under sub-Section (1) is committed shall have power to arrest such offender.
