(1) Subject to sub-rules (2) to (5) below, a public notice, in Form 1, of an intended election to a municipality shall be given by the State Election Commission mentioned therein the dates and hours between which nomination papers shall be received, the date for scrutiny of the nominations, the last date for withdrawal of the candidature and the date & hours of poll, if necessary;
[(2) The last date for filing of nominations shall be the fourth day after the date of publication of the public notice under Rule (1) above, or if that day is a public holiday, the next succeeding day which is not a public holiday.
(3) The date for scrutiny of the nominations shall be the day next to the last date for filing nominations, or if that day is a public holiday, the next succeeding day which is not a public holiday.
(4) The last date for withdrawal of candidature shall be the second day after the date for scrutiny of nominations or, if that day is a public holiday, the next succeeding day which is not a public holiday.]
(5) The date of poll shall not be earlier than six days and later than ten days from the last date for withdrawal of candidature;
[(6) No amendment, transposition or deletion of any entry shall be made and no direction for the inclusion of a name in the electoral roll of a ward shall be given after the last date for making nominations for an election in that ward and before the completion of that election.]
