Except as provided in rule 7, a conveyance allowance is drawn all the year round, is not forfeited during absence from headquarters may be drawn in addition to any other travelling allowance admissible under the rules:
provided that a Municipal Servant who is in receipt of a conveyance allowance granted for the up-keep of a Motor Car/Jeep/Motor Cycle/Scooter/Auto Cycle/ Cycle, shall not draw mileage allowance for a journey by a Motor Car/Jeep/Motor Cycle/Scooter/Auto Cycle/Cycle, except on such conditions as may be prescribed by the competent authority.

Notes:- 1. If one is unable to maintain Motor Car/Jeep, he can be allowed the conveyance allowance prescribed for maintaining the Motor Cycle/Scooter.
2. If one is unable to maintain a Motor cycle/Scooter, he can be allowed the conveyance allowance prescribed for maintaining the auto Cycle or Cycle.
3. If one is unable to maintain a auto Cycle, he can be allowed the conveyance allowance prescribed for maintaining the cycle.
4. If one is eligible to draw conveyance allowance for maintaining a lower category of vehicle, but maintaining vehicle of higher category, he can be allowed the conveyance allowance for which he is eligible to draw.
5. In case a cycle is provided by the Board, the Municipal Servant shall get such maintenance charges as applicable in case of Government Servants.
