Section 2: Definitions

In these Rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context:-

(a) "Act" means the Payment of Gratuity Act,1972;

(b) ``Appellate authority" means the State Government or the authority specified by the State Government under sub-section (7) of Section 7 of the Act;

(c) ``Form" means a form appended to these Rules;

(d) "Nomination" means nomination made under Section 6;

(e) ``Section" means a Section of the Act.
