Section 2: Definitions

The Rajasthan Poisons Possession and Sale Rules 2015State Rules of Rajasthan · 1919

(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, -

(a) “Act” means the Poisons Act, 1919 eCootal Act No.

XII of 1919);

(b) “Dealer” means a person holding license under these rules;

(c) “Form” means a form appended to these rules;

(d) “Licensee” means a holder of a licénse;

(e) “Licensing authority” means the District Magistrate or any officer authorized by the State Government in this behalf;

(f) “Notification” means a notification published in the Official Gazette;

h) “Sale means any sale by a licensed dealer lo another or by a licensed dealer to any educational institution or to any research or medical institution oF hospital or dispensary under a qualified medical practitioner (Registered Medical Practitioner) or any recognized public institution or industrial firm (requiring poisons for its own use) or to Government Departments or Public Sector Undertakings or to an individual for ( personal use; and a

(i) “Sehedule” means the Schedule appended to these rules. .

(2) Words and expression used in these rules but not defined, shal!

have the same meahing as assigned to them in the Act.
