Section 65: Powers of the State Committee

The Rajasthan Police Act 2007State Act of Rajasthan · Act 14 of 2007

The State Committee shall, while discharging its functions under this Act, have same powers as are vested in a court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act No. 5 of 1908) when trying a suit, in respect of the following matters, namely:-

(a) enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath or affirmation;

(b) compelling the production of documents; and

(c) issuing commission for examination of witnesses.

and the proceedings before the Committee shall be deemed to be the judicial proceedings within the meaning of sections 193, 196 and 228 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Central Act No.45 of 1860).
