Section 32: . Commission Advisory Committee.

(1) The Commission shall, in consultation with the State Government, constitute a committee to be known as the Commission Advisory Committee. (2) The Commission Advisory Committee shall consist of not more than twenty one members to represent the interests of commerce, industry, transport, agriculture, labour, consumers, non- governmental organisations and academic and research bodies in the energy sector. (3) The Chairperson and Members of the Commission shall be ex-officio Chairperson and Members of the Commission Advisory Committee. (4) The terms of the Members of the Commission Advisory Committee shall be for a period not more than three years and one third of the members shall retire annually: Provided that for first time one third of the Members shall be appointed for varying period of one year, two years and three years. (5) The Commission Advisory Committee shall advise the Commission on, - (i) major questions of policy: (ii) matters relating to quality, continuity and extent of service provided by the licensees; (iii) compliance by licensees with the conditions and requirements of their licence; (iv) protection of consumer interest: and (v) energy supply and overall standards of performance by utilities.
