Section 259: Seclusion of female prisoners from male

(1) Female prisoners shall be rigidly secluded from the male prisoner and the under-trial female prisoner shall if possible, kept apart from convicts.
(2) The Female wards shall be so situated as not to be overlooked by any part of the male jail and there shall be separate hospital enclosure as far as possible.
(3) Female prisoners shall not be required to attend at the jail office.
(4) All enquiries and verification of the warrant of female prisoner shall be conducted by the Jailor or Lady Deputy Jailor in the female enclosure.
