Section 275: Child birth in prisons

The Rajasthan Prisons Rules, 2022State Rules of Rajasthan · 1894

(1) As far as possible every women prisoner having a suitable option, arrangement for parole (or suspended sentence in case of minor and casual offender) shall be made to enable an expectant prisoner to have the scope for delivery outside the prison.

(2) Only on exceptional cases constituting high security risk or cases of equivalent grave description, these facilities can be denied.

(3) The delivery of the child shall be done at the hospital but not in the Prison hospital, as far as possible.
